The latest generation within the Garrett Performance family. GTX-R Gen II turbos are similar to the GTX Gen I series. The Gen II turbochargers feature a completely redesigned compressor side and produce up to 20% more power than their predecessors. The key features here, however, are the new-generation compressor housing, which is prepared to accommodate an optional speed sensor, and the milled compressor wheels with improved aerodynamics and a higher pressure ratio. All GTX compressor wheels are forged and milled from special high-strength aluminum alloys. This manufacturing process gives the turbocharger particularly high efficiency. The particularly uniform wheel geometry also reduces any pulsation noise. You can recognize this by the X in the turbocharger designation.
